The Delhi Shimla Delhi Volvo Package is a no drive trip to the hills covering the journey by comfortable overnight Volvo instead of a self drive taxi. Both legs—Delhi to Shimla and Shimla back to Delhi—are overnight, giving you two full days in Shimla to explore Mall Road, the Ridge, Kufri and Jakhu Temple. The package already includes the hotel and meals in Shimla.
With Volvo, both the outbound and return journeys are overnight, so no travel day is lost to daytime driving – you arrive refreshed and can take advantage of all the daylight hours for sightseeing.
| Route | Distance | Travel Time |
|---|---|---|
| Delhi to Shimla (overnight Volvo) | 345 km | 8–9 Hours |
| Shimla to Kufri | 16 km | 45 Minutes |
| Shimla to Delhi (overnight Volvo) | 345 km | 8–9 Hours |
Shimla can be visited throughout the year and the Volvo route is operated throughout the year irrespective of the season.
The Volvo departs Delhi in the evening and arrives at Shimla ISBT the next morning; the return Volvo departs Shimla in the evening of Day 4 and reaches Delhi the following morning. Please plan onward travel from Delhi accordingly.
Luggage on the Volvo is limited to one main bag and one handbag per person. AC semi sleeper seating means bus is comfortable but not fully flat, so light sleepers may want a neck pillow.
This is a laid-back, family-friendly itinerary with no high altitude travel. July and August can bring monsoon delays on the highway and December to February can bring snow in Shimla and Kufri – both are accounted for with buffer time in the itinerary.
| Month | Temperature |

The Volvo runs via the Delhi–Chandigarh–Kalka highway, which is smooth, well-maintained expressway for most of the route, with hill bends only on the final Kalka–Shimla stretch. Local roads to Kufri are narrow but in good condition.
The package starts from a Volvo boarding point in Delhi (details shared at the time of booking) and ends the same way on return. If you're arriving in Delhi by flight or train, plan to reach the boarding point by early evening on Day 1.

Two nights of hotel accommodation in Shimla are already included in this package, in a comfortable, centrally located property within easy reach of Mall Road and the Ridge.
All major networks — Jio, Airtel and Vodafone — work reliably along the entire route, including on the Volvo highway stretch and throughout Shimla and Kufri.
